Technology Transfer

Technology Transfer comes in many forms. It includes protecting and managing your intellectual property rights so you have something of value to transfer. For more information on protecting your patent, trademark, copyright and other IP rights, click on this link: It will take you to our Intellectual Property Page.

The most common forms of technology transfer are assignments and licensing. The basic difference between the two is that an assignment transfers all your intellectual property rights in the technology to the person acquiring those rights (the “assignee”); a license is a transfer of less than all of those rights.

  • Have you or your business developed a new technology you wish to commercialize, but aren’t sure how to proceed?
  • Do you have software or other technology you are looking to license?
  • Are you looking to purchase or sell a business and wondering how to manage the IP?
  • Have you received a “Cease & Desist” letter? Or have you recently learned that some rogue has misappropriated your technology and is infringing your IP rights?
  • Do you have employees or contractors working on a commercial project that will result in the development of new technology and want to protect your business interests in the resulting product?
